“This show will be a once-in-a-lifetime, one-of-kind event that will feature many events including a classic car, truck and motorcycle show, a live band, concerts, dance performances, an American & Ukrainian Bazaar as well as admission to the Classic Auto Mall,” said Johnny Pappas, the show organizer.
The classic car show is open to any car, truck and motorcycle of any year, make and model. More than 300 cars, trucks and motorcycles are anticipated to compete for three Best of Show custom-made trophies, Top 40 trophies plus 20 specialty trophies.
“The Best Engine trophy is a real working engine I built complete with opening and closing intake and exhaust valves, rotating camshaft, pistons, fan and spark plugs that glow with LED lights in sequence,” said Pappas. “I guarantee this trophy will not be sitting on a shelf after it’s won. The winner and his kids or grandkids will be playing with the trophy for years to come!”
The Best Interior trophy are real seats that Pappas made from leftover upholstery material used in restoring his ’57 Chevy. The Best Paint trophy is an actual professional paint sprayer used for painting cars.
Other specialty trophies include Best Chevy, Ford, Mopar, Truck, Daily Driver, Import, Modern & Classic Corvette and Promotors’ Pick. Cars clubs coming from Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania will compete for the Longest Distance Club and the Most Club Participation specialty trophies. Show vehicle registration is $20 and will be from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
The entertainment portion of the show will feature award-winning renowned Elvis tribute artist Jeff Krick Jr. singing Elvis’s American trilogy and favorite hits accompanied by the 65-member Twin Valley High School Marching Band who will also provide music for singers performing the American and Ukrainian national anthems. In addition, the Voloshky School of Ukrainian Dance will perform Ukrainian dances. The popular Dog’s Dinner Band of Morgantown will perform favorite oldies music during the show.
A Ukrainian and American Bazaar will be selling unique arts and crafts and baked goods. There will also be dozens of gift baskets and gift certificates to be raffled off which include a one-night jacuzzi suite at the historic Wayne Brook Inn along with a $50 gift certificate, bottle of red wine with glasses and T-shirts from the Long Way Home Grill & Pub of Honey Brook, Auto Zone and other automotive buckets, a rare private owner’s collection of Elvis memorabilia, wall décor, cupcakes, cookies, scones and brownie, spa products, Norwex home cleaning products, homemade Ukrainian honey and more.
Free face painting by Dorothy Senior will be offered for both kids and adults. Ryan Tyler of Honey Brook State Farm insurance will also be there to help with all of your insurance needs.
Sabatino’s Grille, Epicurean Garage & Pierogi Factory restaurants will be selling pizza, cheesesteaks, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries and sandwiches, pierogies and kielbasa, plus desserts and beverages by Scrape & Scoop and It’s Koffee Time.
The Classic Auto Mall is located at 6180 Morgantown Road, Morgantown. The show rain date will be Sept. 24.
Admission is free for spectators to the car show, bazaar, all entertainment and to the Classic Auto Mall Museum, which houses 400 original, unrestored classic cars, trucks and motorcycles on display from the early 1900s to the 1990s and more than 600 consignment cars for sale from all over the world.
